Victorian red tape reduction welcome, but more to be done

Victorian businesses will be sure to welcome yesterday’s announcement that the Victorian Government is delivering more than $401 million worth of red tape cuts per year, and is on target to increase this saving to $500 million by July 2012.

Red Tape

By and large, our members don’t go into business with the express purpose of filling in paperwork or negotiating bureaucratic obstacles.

However, most inevitably find the regulatory burden frustrating and time consuming, with VECCI surveys consistently nominating red tape as one of the key business bugbears.

In this section, we try and get a grip on the problem and list the red tape burdens that are bugging our members, as well as those that are looming.  More positively, we also list those that VECCI has managed to assist in pushing away.
